Five things you don't know about me...

I got tagged by Tom at Engagement Principles today. I have to say ‘five things about me’ that the you might not know and then tag other bloggers to do the same.

Okay, so here goes.

1. The first article I ever wrote, many years ago, was accepted and published in Air New Zealand’s inflight magazine. Unfortunately I was too slow at the time to realize that I could write for a living. But that’s okay. I’m going to make up for it now.

2. I spent a year working in a hospital in Saudi Arabia looking after the princes and princesses of Saudi royalty. I was more a servant than a nurse. Not something I plan on doing again.

3. I might live in New Zealand, but I will never go bungy jumping. Ever!

4. Christmas is becoming my least favourite holiday. It has been overtaken by extreme commercialism. I wonder how many kids these days even know why Christmas is celebrated?

5. I have spent most of my life living within half an hour of the beach. But I still haven’t learnt how to surf.

Enough exposure for one day. Next. Who’s on my tag list? Amy at Tappity Tap Tap, Alicia at Writing Spark, and Allison at A Curious Mind.

Hi Liz
Thought you'd like to know I followed your link to Karen's blog for the Query Writer Giveaway.

I didn't win, but between you and Karen, you've inspired me to order both Linda's books, which I've just done... no stopping me now!

Hi Yvonne, sorry you didn't win the book but it's great your keen to get it anyway. I'm still waiting for my copy of 'Query letters that rock'. Amazon sent it a while ago but hasn't arrived this end yet. Could be due to the holiday mail. Will just have to wait I guess. Liz

Hi Liz, thanks for the tag! I don't know if I would want to be a servant to Saudi royalty, either - especially not if they're sick, haha! I bet you learned some pretty interesting things during that time, though!

I LOVE the concept of your blog. Publically tracking the queries and articles you send out must motivate you - I know whenever I talk about doing something on my blog, I'm less likely to get lazy since everyone knows about it, haha.

Hi alicia, you're right about the motivation. It's actually the only reason I started the blog - I needed something to stop me from procrastinating. Turns out I'm having fun too. Cheers, Liz
