Did you know that every day, somewhere in the world, someone is celebrating a holiday? Today is Discovery Day in Haiti and King’s Birthday in Thailand. Tomorrow is Farmer’s Day in Ghana and Constitution Day in Spain.
I know this through Earth Calender, a non-profit website that lists holidays by date, country, and religion. Their definition of a holiday is ‘…is any day that recognizes a cultural event and may not necessarily be a day when businesses are closed‘.
Sites like this are great for writers looking for inspiration and article ideas. Other useful sites include:
World Calender
Interfaith Calender
