Thanks to the Baltimore Sun and the dedicated readers of their Read Street Blogwritten by Dave Rosenthal and Nancy Johnston, there is now a google map of over 120 bookstores across the USA.

It's definitely a useful tool, especially for those of us who love both road trips and bookstores.
In fact, I'm going to put the map on Write to Travel's sidebar for future reference...

definitely a great tool! i always find myself looking for bookstores whenever i'm on the road. they are the best place to recollect myself while on a frantic trip.
there's just something about bookstores that simply make you feel good, whereever you are.
Really books give lot of knowledge..as kiwiwriter write the same....
It seems as though Amazon are the mings of book sales these days. I love amazon to be honest as such as wide selection and choice.
Lost in Place is another great resource independent bookstores. She has a very thorough guide for Baltimore and Melbourne of all places, and lots of features in between.

p.s. my regional roundup: australia is up all week (and the next few weeks), which you may enjoy :)
The "pin" for Austin TX comes up Book People which is a great locally owned (I think) bookstore with a great staff, right in downtown Austin. They have pretty good authors in from time to time to do book-signings and/or readings. I have enjoyed this bookstore a lot.
