Hi Liz,
In its post editor, Blogger doesn't offer you an option to have links open in a new window. So to do it, you'll have to manually edit the HTML. Don't worry though, it's not difficult!
In the post editor, switch from the "Compose" to the "Edit HTML" tab. There, your links will look like this:
<a href="http://www.ibnibnbattuta.com">Andrew's blog</a>
Insert target="_blank" like this:
<a href="http://www.ibnibnbattuta.com" target="_blank">Andrew's blog</a>
This is definitely a great tweak to use on your blog, so that readers can follow your links to other sites without having to navigate back.
Hope that helps!
-Andrew
