It’s meant to be the first day of summer. I don’t think so. It’s cloudy. It’s raining. And it’s cold. Where’s the sun? Where’s the warmth? Maybe it got lost…
But rainy weather makes it easier to sit at the computer and work.
I just got another query rejection, but they said ‘this won’t work for them at present….[but] … contact them again after February.’ So I’m going to call this a partial rather than total rejection.
Meanwhile, I’ve just finished the drafts of 5 new query letters that I want to send out on Monday. I’ll spend the weekend editing them to perfection…
I’ve also been reading posts at AskAllison and Inkthinker on writing for trade journals. It’s an avenue I haven’t really explored yet, but am putting it on my list of things to do. A quick internet search turned up a couple of sites to find New Zealand and Australian trade magazines. Plus I came across Freetradepubs.com that has a comprehensive list of trade and professional magazines, journals, and newsletters…

I'd call that good weather from where I am. It's freezing cold and snowing in northern China, and I've been hiding from the wind all week.
This is a great site, by the way. I have to admire you putting it all out there. Makes me think I should be getting my own queries out the door...
hi chris,
Thanks for stopping by. Glad you like the site. It's a great way to push myself towards my goals. Having others enjoy it is a wonderful bonus. Sorry to hear it's so cold in China. I sometimes forget my summer is someone elses winter... Cheers, Liz
