Remember when trend spotting was considered the domain of professionals. They created foundations and think tanks that researched and then announced to the world what trends would be happening in the future. They sold their trend information to big corporations and people like Faith Popcorn wrote books like ‘The Popcorn Report’ and ‘Clicking’.
The internet has changed all that and these days anyone can be a trend spotter, which is great for writers looking for ideas. My two favorite sites like Trendhunter and Springwise. Trendhunter also has a print magazine (haven’t seen it over here in New Zealand yet). What’s your favorite trend spotting site?
